Grumpy’s Restaurant Featured “‘Jacksonville-based breakfast chain looks to enter Orlando market” On WJXT & ClickOrlando.com.
ORLANDO, Fla. – Home-style cooking, southern hospitality and the promise of no one leaving grumpy is what can be expected at this breakfast chain that may be headed to Orlando.
Grumpy’s Restaurant, the Jacksonville-based breakfast eatery, started slinging its pancakes, eggs and sandwiches in 1999. Currently it has five locations across North Florida, but its next step is expanding to Orlando, according to a press release.
“Orlando’s vibrant and flourishing community is the perfect next location for Grumpy’s to expand into,” said CEO and President Daniel DeLeon in a press release. “The city’s influx of visitors and locals over the last couple of years are impressive, and we look forward to finding the right franchisees to help us integrate into the community.”
DeLeon also said in the press release factors such as being named the number one foodie city in the U.S. and the population boom led to Orlando being the ideal market for expansion.
Meanwhile, the breakfast eatery expands via franchising, with the initial investment cost ranging from $685,000 to $1.5 million, according to a press release.
Grumpy’s Restaurant is only open during breakfast and lunch, with all locations closing at 2 p.m. It serves classic diner items such as eggs, corned beef hash, French toast, burgers and more.
It was also voted Jacksonville’s Best Brunch in 2020 by our News 6 partner WJXT.
All in all, this isn’t the only chain with plans to expand here. Restaurant brands such as Friendly’s, Salad Station, Pepper Lunch and Raising Cane’s are expanding their footprint in Orlando as well.
